How did you discover your love for music?
I discovered my love for music through the recording sessions my uncle would hold with me and my cousins in my grandma’s basement. We would stay up all night for a couple days straight making songs and that’s how I was really able to explore this love for music I have.
What was the biggest milestone you have passed since you started making music?
The biggest milestone I’ve passed so far was being able to perform outside of the province last September. The Mosaic Music Festival selected me to come perform a set at the Halifax Waterfront and for me that was a really cool moment. I never thought I’d leave my grandma’s basement on the rez with my music but now I’m really doing shows in places 6 hours away from me.
What has been your favourite performance so far?

My favourite performance so far was at Jono’s Party Chenous event in Fredericton last October. I had so much fun that night and caught a good vibe. I got to meet so many different people in the game that night and had a killer set ready with the DJ, Metaphyzik.
What song did you write that had the biggest impact on the way you create music?

I wrote this song called “Hold Down (My City) in my dorm room a few years back, it was one of my first tracks I dropped as Flacko Finesse. I wrote the song in about 20 minutes while having the beat on loop and by the time I finished writing I knew the song was ready to record right away. With the way I penned it, I only put the hook at the end of the song and let the rest be all straight verses, and now for the past few years that is the song structure I follow most often.
When and where are you most inspired? How do you find your element?
I am most inspired after watching my favorite movies such as Goodfellas, Scarface & The Departed but I’m also really inspired when listening to some of my favorite music artists such as Westside Gunn and Jay-Z. These are movies and people that have inspired me for years and always make me grind harder. For a location, I’m always the most inspired in my bedroom when it’s late at night. I find it’s a time where I can just relax and focus on my craft, I write my craziest bars during those nights.
